Activity Burnout.
For children to balance home life with school and extracurricular activities, it's important that they get used to a routine and not be overloaded with stress. .They should not have too much on their shoulders, not too much to weigh them down, maybe they have too many activities going on along with their academics. One could take a look at all the elements involved, and find out whether one could add a little bit more here, or take off a little bit there, and not put too much pressure, too much stress on the children for it leads to activity burnout
Is there enough time in the week for a child to play outside, read books for fun, or spend time with friends? Many of the school children have daily schedules that are overbooked with activities and daily responsibilities. Quite often these responsibilities and activities are important but when the kids run from one extracurricular activity to another, they might need to come up for air. If you suspect that any one child's stress is due to burnout, cut back on activities for a while to see if the situation improves.
It’s important to note that children who have time to play outdoors and interact with nature are less likely to suffer from stress. In addition, research suggests that these children might also do better academically than their peers. Outdoor activities., or even outdoor playtime needs to be incorporated into the child's schedule every week. Outdoor play can be as simple as riding a bike in the neighborhood or hanging out in the backyard with friends.
Getting free of the reins in school whether academics or activity is important. A child doesn’t understand the fine line between activities and school curriculum. To him the mere fact that he is coming to school is an effort , an activity and the multiple activities on top puts a great deal of pressure on him to perform . This regimen could take a break
Teenagers have too much to worry about also. The stress of being a teen isn't evident to most adults but the teenagers are definitely stressed out.. Stress over getting good grades is at the top of the list. The next thing in line is school activities such as sports, fests etc.
Many kids are too busy to have time to play creatively or relax after school, for the tiresome tuitions greet them as soon as they reach home. Kids who complain about the number of activities they're involved in or refuse to go to them may be signaling that they're overscheduled.
would you like to know how to cut down on their stress levels?
