Passionate About Inspiring Others
I have been interested in the art of communication and what better way than befriending a pen. It has been over twenty odd years that I have been sifting through dilemmas and indecisions in individuals, understanding different kinds of anxieties, discovering individual fears that bog down most of us and solving self-esteem issues that cripple our personalities.
The need was so overwhelming that I found my medium of expression in national dailies. My well researched views, after speaking to experts from different walks of life, were published in national dailies ,like The Times, The Telegraph, The Statesman, Daily Excelsior and Indian Express to name a few.
And I found that there is an acute need to listen to the spoken word. Everyone can talk but not many of us are good listeners. Listening is like a remedy, a therapy by itself.
The second innings of my life is steered towards this aspect; on the importance of listening to hearts laden with loads of despair and anxiety. Even our best friends don’t know what we are going through, so then how to make inroads into a person’s emotional and psychological landscape?

Counselling young adults, adolescents in different schools made me realize how vital communication is to our emotional and mental well-being, an important link between family and family members, between friends and colleagues.

Relationships at all levels are taken for granted but the fact is that every bond needs fresh air and nourishment to keep it alive.
Due to some conflicts, retro concepts, and rusty egos, parents in dealing with their children want to follow the lines that were applicable to them in their growing up, without realising that much has changed in the last thirty odd years.

There is a tendency by the parents to breathe down the necks of their children, almost making them like prisoners in their self-styled module of parenting ,that is not only primitive and outdated but also throttling. Times have changed, exposure is absolute, a light-hearted approach becomes important.
Over-protection ,over-thinking , overdoing... all boomerang , turning a beautiful and enjoyable experience of parenting into a nightmare ! Rigid belief system, an egoistic attitude , an unwillingness to change with times, ruins this beautiful bond. Expectations get blown out of proportions, and disappointment follows soon after.
As a behavioural expert I have realised that intervention to empower a child is important. Emotional empowerment and the strength that one’s own emotional management gives, is vital to growing up with a positive life energy.
Channelizing emotions in the right direction, utilizing them to the best of one’s requirements ,making our vulnerabilities our pivot of strength is what I want to promote through my work.
I believe that if we are in touch with our own feelings and don’t hide our vulnerabilities, we can overcome all kinds of internal conflict and despair. This is the power within us, and I want the adolescent community to be self-sufficient in this reservoir of emotional strength.
